The city stretches for miles south along the Caloosahatchee River, which created the town and levered its importance during the Seminole Wars. Since the early 1800s, settlers and visitors of fame and wealth came to Fort Myers, most notably Thomas A Edison, who built his home, laboratory and botanical gardens between the river and  McGregor Blvd. Thomas Edison eventually persuaded his friend  Henry Ford, of automobile fame, to build next door and both homes are open today to inform visitors of local history, along with other historic museums and sites.

Professional theater, a sophisticated performing arts hall and two sports parks, which host the Boston Red Sox and Minnesota Twins for spring training, provide entertainment in the Fort Myers area. Downtown is evolving into a lively night scene where clubs, coffee houses, street performers and cafes draw a young, artsy crowd. For nature lovers, parks preserve fragile habitat while providing trails for hiking, biking and paddling. Manatee Park is home to a herd of endangered Florida manatees that come to winter in its warm waters every year.

Welcome to the City Of Cape Coral! Cape Coral has more than 400 miles of waterways, with 222 miles of saltwater canals and 156 miles of freshwater canals. 

It is a boaters dream especially since many of the Cape Coral canals provide access even direct access to the Gulf of Mexico. Of course, we have other Florida luxuries too, such as golf courses, parks and beaches.  

Cape Coral was built in the 1960's by two land speculators by the name of Rosen Brothers who believed that the property's location on the Gulf Coast provided abundant sunshine and almost endless opportunities for waterfront living. The Rosen Brothers pre-platted this land to approx 350,000 residential sites. Our standard build-able size lots consists of 2 lots that are approx 10000 SqFt (80x125) Some lots are bigger. The City was incorporated in 1970 and it's population grows every year! Cape Coral is the 3rd largest city geographically in the state of Florida and is the 11th largest city in population.

The city is a large peninsula on the Gulf Coast of Florida and is bordered by the Caloosahatchee River on the east and Matlacha Pass on the west. The city is located about 2 Hours south of Tampa.

The year-round weather in Cape Coral and Southwest Florida is very sunny! While our summers are very warm, humid and rainy, the winters in Cape Coral are absolutely beautiful.

The unincorporated community of North Fort Myers is often referred to as the "Gateway to Lee County."

With kids in tow the Shell Factory Fun Park, just south of the US 41 fork, is a great way to keep everyone happy. It has activities for the entire family including shopping, miniature golf and bumper boats, a petting zoo and botanical gardens.
